Since 1827 when John Payne moved his family to Catlin, Illinois, members of our family have lived in Vermilion County. In the 1830's the Guymons came and then the Redmonds and later the the Schutz and the Cummins and the McQuowns.
The Paynes and the Redmonds came from England by way of New England. Noah Guymon's ancestors were from France and the Schutz were born in Germany, the Cummins and McQuowns were were Scottish and Irish. They all made their way to Vermilion County and had a part in the ancestory of my parents.
My sisters and I were born in Danville, Vermilion County, Illinois. The last generation of my birth family to be born in this county were my nephew Zachariah and my niece Jessica.
