Noah Guymon was born in Stokes Co, North Carolina on November 1, 1793 to Frances (Franky) Guymon, who was 17. His mother appears to have been unwed at the time as that was her maiden name. She later married Johann Valentine (Velty) Fry when Noah was about 21 years old.
Frances had a sister Nancy who married Micajah King. Micajah and Nancy at sometime moved to Meigs Co. Ohio. It is reasonable to think that Noah went with them or went later own his on to visit them. He eventually ended up in Ohio where he met Lura Higley Rathburn.
Noah and Lura, and possibly Lura's daughter Deziah, moved to Vermilion County around 1830. Noah purchased land in Catlin Township. They had three children between 1829 and 1833: Franklin Noah Guymon, Mary Helen Guymon and Edward Galen Guymon.
.....Noah and Lura were married October 6, 1842. Noah died February 19, .........1861 and is buried in God's Acre Cemetery in Catlin.
