Sarah Anna Rowland , daughter of William F. and Nancy Johnson Rowland, was born April 11, 1866 in Reevesville, Illinois and was a neighbor of the Daniel Cummins family.

Sarah married Tom February 10, 1881 in Reevesville. She helped him in his grocery business.

The Cummins had six children: George Bertram, Robert (who died at age 14), Edna May (died in infancy), Walden, Florence Inez and Marvin. She taught her daughter Florence to sew, crochet, make biscuits and do other handicrafts.
