William H. Redmond was born in Indiana July 15, 1821. In 1848 he and his wife and his oldest son Theodore moved to Georgetown, Illinois.
William was the Postmaster for the small town and was a tailor by trade. As a tailor, he is supposed to have designed the first straight long pants for men.
Three more children were born after the family moved to Georgetown: John Garrett, Charles, who died at 10 years of age, and Mary, who died at birth.
Elizabeth Bolton was born July 15, 1824, probably in Louisville, Kentucky not too far from the Indiana border where William was born. Her parents were John Boulton and Mary Ann Truman.
